Versions

Version 1.0
– This version was released on April 15, 2009.
– With this version, you can complete an electronic scorecard and export to a Retrosheet formatted event file.
– This version does not incorporate pitches.

Version 1A
– This version was released on April 30, 2009.
– This version fixed the problem with a substitution surrounding a short at-bat.

Version 2.0
– This version was released on May 7, 2009
– This version is capable of importing Retrosheet formatted event files and populating the scorecard.
– This version does not insert substitutes into the scorecard in an intelligent manner. It places substitutes on the top-most available line. Ideally, substitutes would be placed closer to their position in the batting order.

Version 2A
– This version was released on May 14, 2009
– This version insert substitutes into the scorecard in an intelligent manner.
– The second set of Pos/Inn columns are now used.
– The BA column can now read “A”, “B”, “XA”, “XB”, “AA”, “AB”, “BA”, or “BB” depending on whether each substitution was “B”efore the short bat, “A”fter the short bat, or “X” not related to the short bat.

Version 2B
– This version was released on May 26, 2009
– This version fixes a bug that occurred when there was a substitution for the pitcher in a game using the DH.

Version 2C
– This version was released on May 28, 2009
– This version allows you to insert a substitute following a preplay event. On May 27, 2009, Carlos Zambrano threw a wild pitch, allowing a runner to score. He argued and was ejected. Angel Guzman entered to replace Zambrano, and continue pitching to Nate McLouth.
– In this situation, place a “P” (for “P”ost “P”replay) in the BA column. This isn’t a perfect fix, as I haven’t considered a complex combination of “P”, “B”, and “A” codes… but this should cover 99.9% of games.

Version 2D
– This version was released on June 30, 2009
– DH became a defensive position
– K+E is now enabled
– The save line is always displayed
– Extra columns were added for long games
– Extra rows were added for many substitutes
– # columns are hidden
– Comments prior to the game now in 1st at-bat now don’t throw an error
– Updated Umpires File
– Bevent button added (needs path to excel)

Version 3.0
– This is a future version that will be capable of processing pitch data (import and export)

Version 4.0
– This version will incorporate several lesser used Retrosheet tags, including padj and ladj. I may also look into incorporating player numbers to improve the process of entering names into the scorecard.
